ImmunoStrip®Potyvirus Group (Poty) test strips can quickly identify more than 20 members of the Potato Virus Y genus and can be used to test more than 70 different crops. This test can be used in the field or in the laboratory and can be performed without experience. It only takes 5 minutes to obtain results, and the maximum detection time is 30 minutes.

Agdia's Potato Virus Y test strip uses antibodies that react to the amino acid sequence on the virus coat protein (which is highly conserved among aphid-transmitted polytypes), so this test strip is capable of detecting multiple Potato Virus Y viruses. The test strip can be used as a screening tool. When the result is positive, it is recommended to use other methods (PCR, etc.) for confirmation.

Potato virus Y is the largest class of plant pathogens, affecting hundreds of crops. Viruses in this genus are transmitted by one or more of the following means: aphids, seeds, machinery, grafting, and pollen. Potato virus Y can have a significant impact on crop production, including yield loss, product stagnation and regulatory impacts.
