Clenbuterol is often used as a growth promoter in cattle and swine farming. When animals eat feed, they convert excess energy into fat, but when animals eat clenbuterol, the excess energy is converted into muscle, not fat. Clenbuterol is a bronchodilator that opens the airways by relaxing the tense muscles around the airways when asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease strikes. Clenbuterol can cause anxiety, tremors, palpitations or tachycardia, and hypokalemia. The depth of color is inversely proportional to the content in the standard/sample, a standard curve is constructed, and the concentration in the sample is calculated.
